Guiding you on your brand identity

Words from Dan our #designer! Guiding you on your brand identity and which pitfalls to watch out for, here are his 3 tips on pitfalls:

1. Remember to be flexible.

Design trends change.

If something looked good 10 years ago, chances are that today it will probably look dated.

You don’t want to gain the reputation of being old fashioned so try to stay ahead of (or at least keep up with) the curve.

It’s important to keep an eye out for new trends and plan ways to adapt to avoid becoming dated.

2. Don’t compromise on your company’s core values.

Your values are what make your company what it is.

Don’t create a brand identity that isn’t visually aligned with these values.

If you work for a law firm where employees and workspaces need to look neat and tidy, don’t go designing your brand identity to be colourful and playful. That’s going to send the wrong message.

3. Don’t take any shortcuts.

Creating a brand identity is a huge task.

One made up of many small details. Skipping any of these small details will probably come back to haunt you in the future.

For example: designing a brand identity without font specifications will eventually lead to everyone in the company choosing their own favourite fonts for external communication and marketing.

This type of inconsistency won’t help you win the trust of clients and customers.
